Counseling & Spiritual Accompaniment

Counseling & Spiritual Direction

A quiet, confidential space to bring your prayer, your questions, and your life to God — walked with you through the Sacred Heart of Jesus and His Divine Mercy.

What Is Spiritual Direction

Someone to walk with you as you listen for God

Spiritual direction is a one-on-one relationship in which a trained director helps you notice how God is already present and active in your life — in prayer, in Scripture, in the ordinary and difficult moments alike. It is not therapy and it is not advice-giving. It is companionship in discernment, rooted in the Church’s long tradition of accompaniment, drawing especially on Ignatian discernment of spirits.

Sessions are unhurried and confidential. You bring what is real — a decision you’re weighing, a dryness in prayer, a wound you’re carrying, a longing you can’t quite name — and together we bring it before the Lord.

Who it’s for

Anyone seeking to deepen their relationship with God — no matter where you are on the journey:

Those discerning a vocation, career change, or major decision

Those in a season of spiritual dryness or doubt

Those returning to the faith after time away

Those wanting a steady prayer companion and accountability

Those grieving, healing, or carrying a heavy burden

How We Meet

What spiritual direction includes

An open book beside a lit candle, set for quiet prayer and reading
Scripture, silence, and prayer are the raw material of every session

A Listening Presence

Sessions begin in silence and prayer. You are heard without judgment, and helped to notice where God has already been speaking.

Discernment of Spirits

Using the Ignatian tradition, we sort through consolation and desolation to recognize which movements draw you toward God and which pull you away.

Prayer Companionship

Guidance in Lectio Divina, contemplative prayer, the Rosary, Eucharistic Adoration, and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy — whatever form of prayer meets you where you are.

Sacramental Life

Encouragement toward regular Confession and the Eucharist as the source and summit of the spiritual life, at a pace that respects your journey.

Ongoing Accompaniment

Most directees meet monthly. Sessions can be in person, by phone, or by video call — whatever makes consistency possible for you.

Complete Confidentiality

What is shared in direction stays in direction. This is a safe, sacred space, offered on a sliding scale so cost is never a barrier.

A Message of Divine Mercy

Jesus, I Trust in You

At the heart of our counseling ministry is the message Christ gave to St. Faustina Kowalska in the twentieth century: no sin, no failure, and no distance from God is greater than His mercy. Whatever you carry into a session — shame, regret, doubt — is met first with mercy, not judgment.

The pale ray and the red ray flowing from the Heart of Jesus represent the water of Baptism that justifies souls, and the Blood that is the life of souls. Together, they are the mercy poured out for every person who comes seeking healing.

The Chaplet of Divine Mercy

Prayed on ordinary Rosary beads, especially at the 3 o’clock Hour of Mercy, the Chaplet repeats on each decade:

“Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.”

“For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.”

closing with, three times: “Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.”

Devotion to the Sacred Heart

The Heart that never stops loving

The Sacred Heart of Jesus is a visible sign of the boundless, self-giving love Christ has for every person — a love that continues even when it is met with indifference. Devotion to the Sacred Heart, revealed through St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, invites us to return that love through prayer, the Eucharist, and reparation.

In counseling and spiritual direction, the Sacred Heart is where we return again and again — a steady, patient love that meets you exactly as you are and slowly reshapes the heart to love as He loves.
