O Salutaris Hostia
O salutaris Hostia,
Quae caeli pandis ostium:
Bella premunt hostilia,
Da robur, fer auxilium.
Uni trinoque Domino
Sit sempiterna gloria,
Qui vitam sine termino
Nobis donet in patria. Amen.
English
O saving Victim, opening wide
The gate of heaven to us below,
Our foes press on from every side;
Thine aid supply, Thy strength bestow.
To Thy great name be endless praise,
Immortal Godhead, One in Three;
O grant us endless length of days
In our true native land with Thee. Amen.
Anima Christi (Soul of Christ)
Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, inebriate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O good Jesus, hear me.
Within Thy wounds hide me.
Suffer me not to be separated from Thee.
From the malicious enemy defend me.
In the hour of my death call me.
And bid me come unto Thee,
That with Thy saints I may praise Thee
For ever and ever. Amen.
Adoro Te Devote
Hidden God, devoutly I adore Thee,
Truly present underneath these veils:
All my heart subdues itself before Thee,
Since it all before Thee faints and fails.
Not to sight, or taste, or touch be credit,
Hearing only do we trust secure;
I believe, for God the Son has said it —
Word of truth that ever shall endure.
O memorial of my Savior dying,
Living Bread that gives life to man;
May my soul, its life from Thee supplying,
Taste Thy sweetness, as on earth it can.
Prayer Before the Blessed Sacrament
Lord Jesus Christ, I believe You are truly present here in the Blessed Sacrament. I come before You with all that I am — my joys, my burdens, and the parts of my heart I don’t yet understand myself.
Teach me to be still. Quiet the noise in me so I can hear You. Give me the grace to trust Your unwavering love and Your perfect plan, knowing You are with me, guiding me with grace and strength. Draw me closer to Your Heart, and let my life magnify Your presence to everyone I meet. Amen.
Tantum Ergo
Tantum ergo Sacramentum
Veneremur cernui:
Et antiquum documentum
Novo cedat ritui:
Praestet fides supplementum
Sensuum defectui.
Genitori, Genitoque
Laus et jubilatio,
Salus, honor, virtus quoque
Sit et benedictio:
Procedenti ab utroque
Compar sit laudatio. Amen.
English
Down in adoration falling,
This great Sacrament we hail;
Over ancient forms of worship
Newer rites of grace prevail;
Faith for all defects supplying,
Where the feeble senses fail.
To the Everlasting Father,
And the Son who reigns above,
And the Spirit, God proceeding
From them each eternal Love,
Be salvation, honor, blessing,
Might and endless majesty. Amen.
